Observations:

February 2018 - Holm has found quick success in his first year of pro hockey in North America. The 26-year-old rearguard has led the Utica Comets' blue line in scoring with 11 goals and 29 points in 42 AHL contests and recently received his first call-up to Vancouver. Holm is an RFA at the completion of the season so it's likely important he sees some NHL ice time for both parties - for the player, to know he is making progress towards reaching the NHL on a full-time basis; and for the club to see what type of asset they have on their hands. Cam Robinson

May 2017 – The Vancouver Canucks have come to terms with the unrestricted free agent after a successful season in the SHL where Holm saw increases in both his counting stats and deployment. The 25-year-old led the league with a plus-24 rating while skating over 18 minutes a night for the Växjö Lakers HC. The smooth-skating defender tripled his previous season’s output from seven to 21 points this past season and followed that up with a solid showing for Team Sweden as the Tre Kroner captured gold at the World Championships.

Holm projects as a steady and smart player who can challenge for a spot on the team’s third pair. While not known for his creativity or offensive instincts, he does offer quick, reliable outlet passes and the ability to skate the puck up the ice, using his legs to help transition the offense.

Holm is exempt from the expansion draft and is signed to a one-year entry-level contract. Cam Robinson
