September 2017 – Luff finished his year playing two games with the Ontario Reign, where he got his first pro point. He is hoping to get a full-time gig in the AHL for the coming season but it is possible he returns to Hamilton as an overager. His offensive numbers continue to improve as he put up over a point per game for the Bulldogs. Luff has a hard, accurate shot but needs to fill out his 6-3 frame and improve his defensive game if he hopes to realize his NHL potential. Jamie Barber

September 2016 – Luff was nearly a point-per-game player (57 points in 61 games) with the OHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs. Although he led them in scoring, he ranked 47th in OHL scoring, and the young player was passed over in the draft. It was the strong end of his season that likely impressed the Kings, and the undrafted free agent was invited to attend LA's rookie camp. Luff scored a goal in a rookie game, and impressed the Kings enough to earn himself a three-year, entry-level contract. The 19-year-old has returned to Hamilton for the 2016-17 season, and he already has seven points in his first three games.

Luff was dominant at the end of the 2015-16 season and will need to string together a complete season this year to prove consistency. He has a larger frame but needs to develop his use of it to separate from opponents. Luff is most dangerous close to the net, and he has a quick release. He projects to be a scoring third-line winger. Philip Kamhi
