With the NHL season all wrapped up, the focus is fully on the playoffs. The NHL is a little late to the party as most of the other leagues have already begun their post seasons, weeks ago in some cases. On Sunday our Senior Associate Editor Hayden penned a great ramblings looking at NHL Prospects [...]
*** Well there we have it. The 2017-18 is nearly in the rearview mirror (an inconsequential BOS/FLA makeup game awaits tonight), and it was an absolutely fantastic year for rookies. Barzal hit 85 points, blowing everyone's expectations away, and Vancouver has a new local legend in Brock Boeser (seriously, he's everywhere here now). But now [...]
As we inch closer to the NHL draft and CHL players begin falling to the wayside as their teams are eliminated from playoff action, it’s time to truly start locking players into their draft slots. This week, I’ll dig into three CHL draft-eligible defenders who seem to be consistently ranked in and around [...]
picture courtesy https://theahl.com/husso-ahl-player-of-the-week Welcome again to the Thursday ramblings where we will check on Wednesday’s playoff action, some AHL awards, OHL nominees, and a few notes. ********************** The AHL released the members of its all-rookie team yesterday, results below (stats through Apr. 3 https://theahl.com/2017-18-ahl-all-rookie-team): Goaltender – Ville Husso, San [...]
*** There's been some good Canadian Junior Hockey playoff content lately, and there will be much more to come as playoffs in all three leagues are underway, with the first rounds nearly wrapped up. Here's a quick debrief of the OHL bracket for those of us lacking the free time to catch all the action: [...]
Well it is Thursday and you know what Thursday at dobber prospects is now, my day to ramble. I will go over the current KHL and MHL playoffs, Shane Gersich, a Panthers prospect I have a feeling about, and CHL teams that have already moved on. Also Svechnikov is still my fantasy hockey [...]
Tell me who's hot and who's not. It can potentially be telling if a possible first-round pick starts ghosting in the playoffs. It can also prove that a player belongs on your fantasy roster if they don't back down when the season is on the line. Let's take a look at who is shining. ----------------------------- [...]
Last week in my ramblings I spoke about some NCAA college players that signed and are free agents. This weekend Hayden took the ball and ran with it covering a number of players that signed since my original post. Since the weekend a number of prominent prospects have dropped out of the NCAA Tournament and [...]
*** Before I get into prospects signing ELCs, I want to highly encourage readers to check out the most recent Finnish Liiga Update by Jokke Nevalainen. Since taking over our SHL and Liiga reports, Jokke has turned them into monster articles - I'm not sure there's more tuned-in scandinavian-focused content out there (in English anyways). Check it [...]
Well, we’ve almost made it. Basically all the junior circuits and European professional leagues are either in the throws or just beginning their playoff rounds. As such, we’re able to put a feather in a few caps of players who outkicked their draft slot or are positioning themselves to be early selections this June. [...]
