In continuing my series of comparing draft-eligible players, this week we have a monster. The 2018 crop is littered with high-end defensemen and impactful wingers. However, it is lite on centres. I’ve targeted four pivots who could conceivably go in any order this June. Two from the Finnish Liiga and two from the CHL. [...]
Welcome to the Thursdays ramblings. Today I will just…. Well ramble about prospect things. Yay. Also do not forget the Prospect report comes out tomorrow! Yay exciting! ******** Actually I kind of have no idea what to write about, which is a silly thing to admit to you, the reader, but I [...]
*** Lots of CHL action this weekend so no sense dillydallying. The league announced its award winners for the 2017-18 season, as follows: Sportsnet Player of the Year: Alex Barre-Boulet (TBL) Not that 116 points in 65 games is bad or anything, but this was definitely a shocker for me, as I thought goaltender [...]
http://chl.ca/article/2018-mastercard-memorial-cup-logo-unveiled Welcome to the Thursday ramblings, I will go over the latest KHL awards Kontroversy (Yes I have always been a Mortal Kombat fan, minus the new and improved micro-transactions) and memorial cup updates. LAND OF THE LIVING SKIES Living in Regina, SK means that I happen to get a live look at many of the prospects who come through Regina or Moose Jaw throughout the regular season and I have to rely on watching games online from other leagues... Enter the Memorial Cup. MY HOME. MY PROVINCE. MY [...]
*** NHL Playoffs and World Championship aren't the only excitement going on right now - The 2018 Memorial Cup began on Friday which means there is lots of play to discuss! Each of the 4 teams will play each other once before one gets eliminated, one gets a bye to the final, and the middle [...]
In preparation for the NHL Entry Draft, I've been breaking down mini-battles on the draft boards. Earlier in the season, I took a look at the consensus top two forwards in this draft class – Andrei Svechnikov vs Filip Zadina. I followed that up with a comparison of Quinn Hughes vs Adam Boqvist. More [...]
Welcome back to my Thursday ramblings, THIS time they will be readable! YES! Mind you last week was fixed a day later which is why we rule here! Time for me to do part 2 of my draft preferences list, and then before the draft I hope to compile a much bigger and [...]
Fans of disgustingly long playoff games were given a rare treat on Wednesday evening. In what ended as the longest game in AHL history, Alex Krushelnyski tallied for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in the fifth overtime frame. The goal sent the Charlotte Checkers and what remained of their in-house fans to bed [...]
Welcome back to my Thursday ramblings or as everyone calls it “the must read ramblings” … that or “I’ll ignore the website for the day” I can’t decide. I am going to go over the first half of my quick draft preferences for teams and a good 2012 draft story **************** [...]
