NOTE: I made the picture so terrible I had to keep it because I cannot stop laughing. I hope to make a better one for next time! Formidable Opponent 2019 Welcome to the Thursday ramblings that are on Saturday today due to a conflicting schedule. I am going to answer questions from my [...]
The WJC is still fresh in our minds but now it’s time to start focusing on the other world tournament which is actually even more interesting for people who scout draft-eligible players: the 2019 U18 World Championship tournament which is played in northern Sweden in the cities of Örnsköldsvik and Umeå. The tournament [...]
Quick Hits Around the CHL for 2019 Draft Hopefuls (Rankings as of the last update – December 2018) WHL Bowen Byram (7th overall) is on a nice little streak. He has five points in his last four games and 33 in 38 on the season. The 17-year-old is the top defensive [...]

As the Chicago Blackhawks prospect writer here on DobberProspects, I was happy to get a chance to see the Blackhawks best (arguably) current prospect Henri Jokiharju [...]
It’s the final day of 2018, and that means the only thing worth discussing right now is what’s happening at the World Juniors. The games are played at a terrible time for us Finns because the first games start at 11 PM whereas the last games start at 5:30 AM. Because of that, I’ve [...]
image courtesy of NESN *** Around this time last year, I wrote a Ramblings looking at whether players from different leagues dropped off at different rates in the 2nd half of the NHL season (click anywhere here to read it). The conclusions weren't definitive, but: Prospects coming from the AHL more consistently improved [...]
Welcome to the Thursday ramblings (anyone else super thrown off by the holidays?), I did a World Junior Championship pool with four other friends again, and now I will go over it. Yay. Rejoice. Stats are simple: Pick all Canadian players and one international player (no goalies) in a snake style draft, [...]
