December 2016 - December 2016 - In his fourth and final season with the Providence Friars, Anthony Florentino is on pace for a career year, as he has already matched his career high in goals at the NCAA level. Florentino is putting his terrific shot from the point to use and his vision from the point on the powerplay set up many plays for the Friars. Florentino will have a decision to make at the end of the season as he will be ending his college career and moving on to the professional level. He does have good gap control and out battles the opposition, but working at the AHL level may make him a very intriguing two-way defender who can contribute offensively. Max Marko

December 2015 – Playing in his third year at Providence College, Florentino's junior year stats are getting better each collegiate year he has played. Anthony is on pace to surpass his 14 point total from the previous year, and has already surpassed his career total 25 penalty minutes with less than half the games played. Providence is currently on their winter break and will be back on the ice December 28th. - Paul Zwambag

Florentino plays a heavy game, he is hard hitting and plays a very physical game. He is built for a lower end defensemen on his team who is capable of skating the puck out of his own end. He has NHL size and attitude, but needs to develop his hockey sense to become an NHL player in three to four years . - Paul Zwambag

Fantasy Outlook: D

Anthony Florentino will be helpful in leagues with deeper rosters and more stats. He will fit on teams who are looking for hits, blocks, penalty minutes from their rear guards, but he is still a long way away from being an NHL defensemen. He will develop his game in Rochester with the Americans after he graduates from college.
