June 2018 – With all the injuries the Ducks accrued this season, many of their prospects made their NHL debut, with Kevin Roy being one of them. He showed off his speed and crafty puck skills in 25 games with the Ducks this season, scoring six goals and seven points. He is an undersized forward, but he plays a smart 200-foot game and in today’s NHL he can be a contributing 3^rd line winger. With a few spots opening up next season, Roy could make the big squad out of camp. Lucas Main

November 2017 – With all of the injuries in Anaheim so far this season, Kevin Roy has received the call up. He started the year with the Gulls, scoring 11 points in 10 games. He scored his first NHL goal in his third game driving to the net and putting home a rebound against Tuukka Rask. He is a smaller player, but he has tons of speed and isn’t afraid of going hard to the net and grinding it out. Once everyone is healthy he will spend more time developing in San Diego, but he has good potential to make the team next season since most of Anaheim’s bottom six are free agents. Lucas Main

September 2017 – Another rookie to professional hockey, Roy has the speed and skill to play (averaging .66 points per game), but the knock on him is his size. However, today’s NHL is all about speed so he could see a cup of coffee in Anaheim this season if a winger or two get hurt. Lucas Main

March 2016 – The start of the NCAA season was difficult for both Roy, and the school he plays for, Northeastern University. Roy was battling injuries and was trying to make his way back to the lineup; at the same time Northeastern was struggling to find wins, after being projected near the top of the Hockey East conference. It seems as though both Roy, and his University, have found their way as the season is coming to a close. Roy has managed to score 20 points in 24 games, including a timely hat trick against The University of New Hampshire in the first round of the Hockey East playoffs. This is a good sign for Roy, who is once again becoming a major impact player for Northeastern. Bryan Puffer

November 2015 – After a great sophomore campaign, Roy’s junior year didn’t really open any eyes. His production, though still good, flatlined and his start to 2015-16 has been very slow. Just four assists in nine games is very un-Roy-like. He’s going in the opposite direction that you normally see a senior NCAA player head. Since he’s turning pro in just a few months, this is not the best time to do this. Dobber

October, 2013 – Kevin Roy has started the NCAA campaign flying out of the gate, with 12 points (seven goals and five assists) over only six games. In those six games, Northeastern has posted a strong record of 5-1-0. Earlier in October, he was named Hockey East Player of the Week, where he got his second career hat trick. Kevin Won

March, 2013 – Roy concluded a strong rookie campaign with 17-17-34 in 29 games with a weak Northeastern University team (finished last in Boston East). Among his accolades this season include the Pro Ambitions Hockey East All-Rookie Team and was the MVP for the Beanpot Tournament. He finished tied for third in points (34) among first year college skaters. He played much of the season on the top line along Vinny Saponari, a 2008 pick of the Jets. The skilled forward has improved his play away from the puck and saw lots of ice time in all situations this season. He plans on bulking up in the summer and returning to Northeastern for another year. Kevin Won
