July 2025 – At 21 years of age, playing for Cornell in the NCAA during the 2024-25 season, Walsh led his team in scoring with 31 points in 36 games. In the previous season, he was sixth in scoring for Cornell with 22 points in 35 games. This progression highlights both his importance to Cornell’s offense and the regression in talent surrounding him. The 2025-26 season doesn’t have meaningful offensive talent coming into the fold, so if Cornell can increase his offensive output, it bodes well for his professional relevance in the future. It might earn him his first AHL contract in 2026 when his NCAA season ends. That could put him in a position to be a top-six forward for the Providence Bruins as early as the 2026-27 season.
