Fantasy Summary

A big, inconsistent, physical power forward who can contribute offensively. Has the potential to become a middle-six forward but will probably settle as a bottom-six energy player.

Observations

September 2025 – Miedema will play in the Ontario Hockey League with the Guelph Storm as a 20-year-old during the 2025-26 season. It will be his fifth and final season in the OHL. Guelph is his third OHL team; he started his junior career with the Windsor Spitfires during the 2021-22 season before joining the Kingston Frontenacs partway through the 2022-23 season. The Storm acquired Ethan Miedema from the Kingston Frontenacs on June 10, 2025. In four games with the Storm to start the 2025-26 campaign, Miedema had five points (three goals and two assists). He is expected to play in all situations in Guelph. Miedema could choose to take the NCAA route after his CHL career is over, or, as a free agent, he will have other options as the 2025-26 season winds down. Mark Henry

June 2025 – Miedema did not sign a contract with the Buffalo Sabres by June 1, 2025. He is an unrestricted free agent. Mark Henry

June 2023 – The Buffalo Sabres drafted Miedema in the fourth round (109th overall) in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. Mark Henry
