Fantasy Summary
A two-way center with a high motor that is not afraid to be physical. Not known as a high producer offensively but has the hockey sense and defensive reliability to become a bottom-six forward.
Observations
August 2025 – Dowart, fresh off signing his ELC, joined the Philadelphia Flyers for a five game audition at the end of the season, seeing deployment on both special teams in small doses. He didn’t provide any points, but he shot four times, threw nine hits and went 40% in the faceoff dot.
To predict Dorwart’s role with Philadelphia in the near future will be a mixed bag. He skated mostly with bruisers Garnet Hathaway and Nicolas Deslauriers, but isn’t of the same mould as they are. He isn’t as much of a banger as his line mates, but does factor to fit into the Flyers’ bottom six if and when he makes the NHL squad. He will likely start the year in Lehigh Valley unless he has an incredible camp.
Dorwart was a highly sought after NCAA free agent despite not being drafted, and his 38 goals, 54 assists in 111 games shows he has at least some offensive flair, but the hallmark of his game is his defensive awareness and compete level. He has a decent shot at being an effective third line centreman if things break right. Keep an eye on his performance in training camp and stash him if your league is deep enough to take a swing. Alex Wyatt
March 2025 – The Philadelphia Flyers signed Dorwart to a two-year entry-level contract, and he will report to the Flyers for the remainder of the 2024-25 season. Mark Henry
