March 2024 – McDonald has signed a PTO with the Philadelphia Flyers AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. He leaves Northeastern after his Sophomore season having scored a goal and added five assists in 23 games after beginning the season coming back from injury. McDonald was named Hockey East’s best defensive defensemen of the 2022-23 season for Northeastern during his freshman season. James Iacovone
