Observations:

February 2016 – Trocheck has erupted offensively in his second line role with the Panthers, scoring 11 points in his past seven games. The recent hot streak has brought the skilled forwards' season total up to 33 points through 53 games. He has proven to be a very important figure on the Panther power play, averaging over two and a half minutes per game with the man advantage netting 11 power play points through those 53 games. Trocheck has been quite consistent in his young career, having gone only one span of six games without a point, and one span of five games without a point thus far.  – Lee Rayson

Oct 2015 – Trocheck erupted to put up four points in the Panthers first game of the 2015 season. The versatile forward saw regular third line duty along with second power play minutes. The power play unit had success converting twice with Trocheck on the ice where he tallied two assists. He could be in for a nice sleeper in relatively deep leagues this season as he did show signs of streaky scoring last year during his time with the NHL club. Now, sitting 11 games into the season, Trocheck has collected four goals and nine points. – Lee Rayson

Oct 2015 – Trocheck has had an impressive training camp as he pushes for a regular spot with the big club. He demonstrated his offensive prowess with four points in three pre-season games to lead the club in pre-season scoring. He also recorded six penalty minutes showing his feisty side, along with eight shots on goal. Trocheck could see regular time in the bottom six with the Panthers this season. The skilled, diminutive winger could be a deep sleeper in deep league formats. – Lee Rayson

February 2015 – Trocheck has seamlessly transitioned back into the AHL following his demotion in late 2014.  Since January 24th, he has posted seven points in seven games for the Rampage to push his season total to 13 points in 16 games.  He has also been shooting the puck more, with 17 shots in those same seven games, up over 0.5 shots per game more than his season average.  Trocheck currently ranks third on the team in points per game, averaging 0.81 per game.  He is certainly on the cusp of regular NHL duty with the Panthers, it is more just a matter of opportunity. Lee Rayson

December 2014 – Trocheck has made quite the impression since his recent call up in last month.  He exploded for three points versus Detroit in which he received the games first star.  He put up an impressive fantasy line of one goal, two assists, two shots, plus three, four hits, while taking 18 faceoffs on December 2nd.  That performance has pushed his season totals up to 11 points in 14 games along with an impressive plus-8.  Check out the vision by Trocheck in the video below from a game earlier this year.  Lee Rayson

November 2014- Trocheck was recalled by the Panthers for his second stint in the NHL where he has posted eight points in 21 games. He exhibited growth and leadership during development camp this year and has been productive for San Antonio of the AHL. The Panthers will look to him to provide a spark to the anemic offense. Zach Hopkins

June 2014 – Trocheck was slotted in to play his first full professional season in the AHL, but after an injury plagued season for the Panthers he got called up earlier than expected. He had a strong offensive season with the Rampage, having 16 goals and 26 assists in 55 games. Trocheck was given the opportunity to represent his country in the 2014 World Championships but went pointless in seven games.  The skilled two-way forward can be a decent fantasy threat in deep leagues and will get a look on special teams if he is able to keep his roster spot next season. Jake Patterson

March 2014 – Trocheck finally got the call to the Panthers and played in his first NHL game on March 7th against the Buffalo Sabres, registering three SOG in 17:35 of ice-time. What is immediately clear is how much his coaches trust him as he was the one to take the defensive-zone face-off with 57 seconds left when defending a two-goal lead and the goalie pulled for the Sabres. While this doesn't really have serious fantasy implications, it does mean Florida believes he's the real deal, considering they threw him into the thick of it right away (he played 22:27 in his 2nd career game). Those who don't have Trocheck should look into acquiring him while those who have him can be happy that they have a future solid two-way centerman. Nathan Kanter

February 2014 – Trocheck has found his game again in the new year thanks to 11 points in 13 games. He now has 34 points in 45 games which leads the team and is good enough for 7th of all AHL rookies. Nathan Kanter

December 2013 – Trocheck has slowed down recently for the Rampage in the month of December. He entered the month with 18 points in 21 games but has recorded just four in nine games this month, bringing his season point-total to 22 in 30 games. His recent struggles include just one assist (zero goals) in his last seven games. Nathan Kanter

November 2013 – In Elliotte Friedman's November 27th 30 Thoughts column, he address Vincent Trocheck's strong game through the eyes of a teammate: "A brief AHL scouting report on San Antonio Rampage centre Vincent Trocheck, a Florida Panthers prospect. One player had very high praise: "Unreal with the puck and has that Corey Perry ability to just slide by guys and not get hit. Going to be a helluva player." Trocheck's emergence in the professional game has not surprised me one bit, he was an exceptional puck possession player during his OHL days and really controls the pace of the game. Brendan Ross

November 2013 – Trocheck still leads the team in scoring, now with 15 points in 16 games. He is still fifth in rookie scoring, and still is firing lots of shots, now with 50 SOG through 16 games. Perhaps a call-up is imminent? The problem is Florida has more defensive trouble than offensive so without a significant injury Trocheck will have to keep peddling away for the Rampage. Nathan Kanter

November 2013 – Trocheck has started his first pro campaign very well with 11 points in nine games. That has him fifth in the AHL for rookies, and first of all Rampage players. He's also firing the puck a lot, with 27 shots on goal, another good sign. Nathan Kanter

October 2013 – Trocheck would have had a hard time making the Panthers opening day roster, so it wasn't surprising when he was assigned to the AHL at the end of September. After a breakout junior campaign, it will be interesting to see how he fairs in his first pro experience. Dale Tallon is very high on him so certainly one to watch. Nathan Kanter

May 2013 – Trocheck has been awarded the Red Tilson Trophy as the OHL's most outstanding player for 2012-13. The annual award is voted on by writers and broadcasters who cover the league. Trocheck had 109 points in 63 games to go along with an incredible plus-59 rating. Nathan Kanter

April 2013 – Trocheck has carried over his dominating play from the regular season into the OHL playoffs. In the 10 games he played during the first two playoff rounds, Trocheck put up nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points, good enough for first in the league. The third round will see his game really be put to the test, as his second-seeded Whalers take on the first-seeded London Knights in what is sure to be a long, hard fought series. Nathan Kanter

March 2013 – On the last day of the OHL regular season, Vincent Trocheck picked up a trio of assists to surpass Sarnia's Charlie Sarault to earn the OHL Scoring Title. Trocheck finished his fourth major junior season with 50 goals and 109 points in 63 games with the Saginaw Spirit and Plymouth Whalers. He remains an excellent NHL prospect and does not receive the attention that he deserves, making him a fantasy asset  that could be acquired cheaper than his skill warrants. In the recent OHL Western Conference Coaches' Poll, Vincent Trocheck received honours in the following categories: Most Dangerous in the Goal Area (3rd), Best on Faceoffs (1st) and Best Shootout Shooter (2nd). Brendan Ross

February 2013 – Since coming over from Saginaw in a trade, Whalers forward Vincent Trocheck has racked up 14 goals and 16 assists and 30 points in only 13 games.  In that time, Trocheck's team has went 9-3-0-1 and the crafty forward has points in all but one game. Trocheck is quickly ascending up the OHL scoring charts and only sits a handful of points back from first place.  With a strong ending, Trocheck could skate away with the OHL scoring title and Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy. Brendan Ross

January 2013 – Plymouth Whalers' newly acquired forward Vincent Trocheck was named OHL Player of the Week (ending January 27th) after leading the league with four goals and nine points in four weekly games. Trocheck is a rising prospect that does not get the recognition he deserves in fantasy circles. Get him on your radar. Brendan Ross

January 2013 – Trocheck was a pleasant surprise at the WJC, playing a strong two-way game, killing penalties and adding six points (three goals) in seven games. He is a tenacious forward who plays bigger than his size, fighting for every square foot of ice every shift. Trocheck's game should translate well to the pro level and his style and attention to defense will endear himself to any coach. He projects as a checking winger who can also supply some offense. Rich Dillon

December 2012 – Trocheck was one of the 27 American players named to the USA Preliminary roster for the upcoming 2013 World Junior Championships. Trocheck is a virtual lock to make the USA squad as the team searches for offensive options. Brendan Ross

April 2012 – Trocheck, an undersized forward, skating for Saginaw is a treat to watch play hockey.  Despite playing in a smaller frame, Trocheck is a gritty forward that shows a willingness to get to the dirty areas of the ice to score goals.  It is not uncommon to find Trocheck in a board battle against a larger opponent and him coming out of the scrum with the puck.  Trocheck is a playmaking center that makes his teammates better as evident by his sizeable assist totals (56; 2nd in OHL) this past season.  At times, Trocheck can over handle the puck and be individualistic but he’s a confident player that loves to have the puck on his stick. Brendan Ross

Fantasy Outlook: B

Trocheck projects to be a playmaker at the NHL level and his skillset should make him a productive pro player especially if given power play opportunities.
