September 2021 – The Capitals let Walfridsson’s rights expire and opted not to sign him. Walfridsson signed with Visby/Roma of the HockeyEttan league, this time not loaned, and he will likely never come over to North America unless his game vastly improves. Pat Quinn
May 2021 – Walfridsson spent the full 2020-2021 season in Sweden’s HockeyEttan league for Visby/Roma where he registered 12 points in 40 games. Walfridsson has not been able to make it to the top tier league in Sweden yet, and while he still has time as he is just 22, he really looks to not be a future NHL defenseman. Pat Quinn
March 2020 – Walfridsson only spent two games in the SuperElit as he was finally put in the Allsvenskan for good. In his 52 games he posted eight points which is to be expected from the stay-at-home defensive defenseman. He is signed until the end of the 2020-2021 season with Södertälje SK and he may stay in Europe a little longer as the Capitals blue line is jam packed for a while. Pat Quinn
September 2019 – Walfridsson is attending the Capitals training camp but is signed to go back and play in the Allsvenskan, the second highest league in Sweden. He has struggled to transition completely to the league since 2017-2018 as he routinely bounced between the Allsvenskan and the SuperElit. This season he will be in the Allsvenskan to start for Södertälje SK as he looks to progress his career. Walfridsson has really stagnated but hopefully he can progress with more time on ice in the tier-two league. Pat Quinn
