June 2024 – Häman Aktell had a fine first season in North America. He only managed six NHL games as he was brought in for depth, but he was not given a shot in the playoffs when the Capitals were down multiple defensemen. Häman Aktell was quite successful in the AHL playing in 55 games, and helping the Bears win their second consecutive Calder Cup with nine points in 17 games. He is an RFA with arbitration rights, so he may stick around Washington or sign back overseas. Häman Aktell is a depth defenseman more suited for deep multicat leagues. Pat Quinn
October 2023 – Häman Aktell was sent to the AHL to start the season as he is eligible to pass through waivers. In two games in Hershey he recorded one goal and did not look out of place. Even in training camp and exhibition play he looked mature but he is, of course, older at 25. Häman Aktell was recently called up, as the Capitals are struggling, possibly to get a more defensive aspect of a player on the team. He may get in to an NHL game soon and with that could be good for deeper multi-category leagues. Pat Quinn
August 2023 – Häman Aktell signed a one-year, two-way contract with Washington in April after playing the past three seasons in the AHL. He improved statistically in every year with points of 11, 16 and finally 36 in 50/51 games each season. Häman Aktell will come to North America and likely start in the AHL as the Capitals have seven defensemen on one-way deals likely filling the teams back end to start the season. If injuries hit, he could be the first player called up, and depending how 2023-24 goes he may have an NHL future. Pat Quinn
June 2021 – Haman-Aktell has wrapped up his most impressive pro season to date while playing for Vaxjo Lakers HC in the SHL. It was the first year of his two-year contract to remain in the SHL as Nashville opted not to sign him. Haman-Aktell is no longer in the Predators pipeline. Nicholas Kawka
November 2020 – Aktell has made the jump to the SHL and is skating with the Vaxjo Lakers. After a strong season with IF Bjorkloven, Aktell has stabilized his game and as he continues to grow into his six foot four frame, he has the profile of a steady fixture on the blueline at the next level. Nicholas Kawka
July 2020 – After an impressive start to the 2019-20 season, Haman-Aktell continued his strong performance to close out the shortened year and finished with 16 points in 45 games. He improved in every statistical category and was among the Bjorkloven team leaders in plus/minus. The development of his two-way game is building and will be his bread and butter moving forward. Within the last few seasons, Haman-Aktell has remedied his injury woes and looks to be rounding into fine form. Nicholas Kawka
June 2020 – Häman-Aktell did not get signed by the June first deadline, making him a free agent. Jokke Nevalainen
January 2020 – Haman-Aktell is enjoying his best professional season to date. With 10 points in 36 games and a plus 17, the defensive defender is showing a more confident and capable offensive side to his game. In the past, Haman-Aktell has been prone to injury but has shown to be durable thus far. In his second season in IF Bjorkloven of the Allsvenskan, Haman-Aktell is steadily improving. Should he sign his ELC and begin his development in a Nashville system known for raising defensive talent, the 6 foot 4, 200-pound rearguard could prove to be a great value pick. – Nicholas Kawka
July 2019 – Haman-Aktell rounded out his season with IF Bjorkloven with 1-5-6 over 34GP and registered 28 PIM, showcasing his true calling as a two-way defender with strong defensive play. Injuries were not an issue for him this past season and he will look to build on similar consistency next season. It will be a significant year in his long-term future with the Predators with ELC potential in sight. – Nicholas Kawka
November 2018 – Häman-Aktell has spent the majority of the 2018-2019 campaign playing for IF Björklöven in Allsvenskan, the Swedish second league. The fourth-round pick of the Nashville Predators in 2016 has played in seven Allsvenskan games, registering one assist in the process. Matt Somma
January 2018 – Aktell is a bit of a mystery prospect. Since being drafted by the Predators in 2016, Aktell has played a total of eight games for Skellefteå of the SuperElit. He had three points in as many games in 2016-2017, and currently has one assist in five games this season along with 27 penalty minutes. Aktell missed a significant amount of time due to a hip injury. He produced at a tremendous rate before the injury and looked to be a hidden gem for the Predators. Skellefteå’s season just entered the second half, and Aktell has reclaimed his spot on the first defense pair. As he readjusts post-injury, the production will hopefully follow suit. If Aktell can stay healthy, he has the potential to be a top-six NHL defenseman. He has excellent size, skates well, and has shown he can put up points. Tyler Halsey
