July 2022 – Willcox has been playing for HC Pustertal of the ICEHL since not being re-signed by the Flyers in 2019-20, and after his one-year deal with the Hershey Bears. Pat Quinn
June 2018 – At this point Willcox is firmly established as a stay-at-home defender. He was team captain of Cornell in his senior year so he has leadership qualities. His production has improved at the pro level so he should at least get a look with the big club soon. But don’t expect much for fantasy purposes. Dobber
August 2016 – There are a lot of promising signs when you look at Reece Willcox’s game. The Cornell captain plays a high intensity, low maintenance style, meaning his poise with and without the puck allow him to be a much more efficient defender. By no means is Reece an offensive defenceman, however given his high IQ, his game from the blue line in is strong enough where he can handle big offensive minutes. Willcox is a powerful skater, and given his 6’3 frame, attacking forwards have a tough time getting by him in the defensive end. When it comes to college defencemen there seems to be cautious optimism amongst fan bases, and that’s good news for Reece as he will be able to continue his development in Leigh Valley without the added pressure of being a big college free agent signing. If he doesn’t crack the NHL within the next two years, the chances of him playing in the league is very low. Brennen York
