Mike Vecchione

December 2017 – All things considered, Mike Vecchione has picked up where he left off last year despite making a trying transition from the NCAA to the pros. While a lot of people go timid when making the jump, he continues to remain proficient on the offensive front. He is comfortable with making the correct play rather than swinging for the perfect play. May not make him a regular on highlight reels, it keeps him employable so as long as he continues to make things happen. Edric Joseph

July 2017 – Michael Vecchione has re-signed with the Philadelphia Flyers for another two years. He is expected to be a part of the Flyers active roster in the near future, be it on opening night or shortly afterwards. Making the team right out of training camp would not be a surprise given the banner year he had at Union College before agreeing to take his talents to the City of Brotherly Love.  Edric Joseph

June 2017 – Vecchione will be well-received as they could use him to fill out their cupboard of prospects who can play centre. He is a smart player given his poise and decision-making on the ice. He will only seldomly get criticized for lackluster finishing or playmaking abilities, as he is equally proficient at both. He has the makings of a good-value undrafted signing in short order. He can make for a sneaky depth selection come draft day as long as he has a strong training camp. Edric Joseph

April 2017 – It has been an eventful start to April for newcomer Mike Vecchione. He signs a one-year entry level deal with the Philadelphia Flyers and makes his debut for the big club against the New Jersey Devils. He was used sparingly only logging 8:15 in ice-time and mustered one shot on goal in that time. Keep an eye on him in training camp. Edric Joseph
