October 2020 – Ejdsell had a decent season last year playing for Farjestad BK in the SHL. The big-bodied center certainly has the skills to be an NHL regular but it seems his heart may belong to Sweden. Tony Carr
November 2018 – Another player that disappointed in training camp, Edjsell has not had a good start to the season in Rockford. The talented forward needs to start scoring to earn a call up to the Blackhawks. Tony Carr
March 2018- Ejdsell has been recalled by the Blackhawks on an emergency basis. After a short stint in Rockford where he recorded one assist in two games, Ejdsell will get a chance to show off his skills at the highest level. The Blackhawks will have to make major changes to their roster next season so this audition will go a long way to determining if Ejdsell needs more seasoning or if he can make the leap and start the season in the NHL. Tony Carr
February 2018 – Ejdsell has been traded to the Chicago Blackhawks in a deal involving Ryan Hartman. Ejdsell has 30 points in 44 games in thh SHL playing for HV71. Ejdsell was a sought after free agent in the summer of 2017 and signed to a two-year entry level contract bu the Predators. Pat Quinn
September 2017 – The 2016-17 Allsvenskan forward of the year and the most valuable player signed a two-year, entry level contract with the Nashville Predators. The hulking Swede won the scoring race in Allsvenskan, with 57 points in 51 games (25 goals, 32 assists). The Allsvenskan is the second-highest tier in Sweden. Ejdsell is described as a dynamic two-way center. He can use his size to create room for himself. He has soft hands, a good shot and excellent vision. He can set up teammates or finish plays with lethal efficiency. Skating is one area that needs improving. At times he looked almost uncomfortable on the smaller ice.
The Admirals’ situation at center got interesting with the addition of Ejdsell. Vladislav Kamenev and Yakov Trenin are probably looking over their shoulders now for the big Swede. A situation like this should bring out the best in all three, competing for playing time with the big club. Ejdsell faces the challenge of transitioning his success in the wider rinks of Sweden to the narrower ones of North America and playing in a more-competitive league, the AHL or the SHL. Niko Salminen
