Observations:

October 2017 – Regardless, if DeBrusk makes the team today or not he's had a fantastic training camp. DeBrusk has been practicing on a line with Krejci and Pastrnak which, if it sticks, is a very cushy spot to land. In the Bruins top six, DeBrusk should have no trouble hitting 40+ points and solidifies himself as a breakout candidate in the East. Keep an eye on this situation over the coming days and grab him if you can in your Dynasty leagues. Mike Drover

September 2017 – Former first-rounder DeBrusk potted a rookie tournament goal that was assisted by Zach Senyshyn and Jakob Zboril. That should ring bells with Bruins fans, as those three players were selected 13th, 14th, and 15th in the 2015 draft. DeBrusk is a smart player who thrives in the dirty areas of the ice. He does his best work below the hashmarks. DeBrusk managed 49 points in 74 games last year in the AHL. Expect him to improve on those totals.  Mike Drover

November 2016 – Shots, shots, shots. DeBrusk is second in the AHL in shots taken with 65 through 16 games played. While DeBrusk only has three goals and three assists to his name, shooting four a game shows that he is leading the charge on creating offence. A great start to the year for the talented winger. Don't forget, DeBrusk scored 41 goals two seasons ago and has the pedigree to be a huge offensive threat for Providence this season. Mike Drover

June 2016 – DeBrusk followed up his 42-goal season with…21 goals. Even a midseason trade to Red Deer couldn't fix the downward spiral that was Jake's offensive game. He tried a little bit too hard to improve defensively and combined with some bad puck luck left DeBrusk feeling frustrated. He also missed chunk of November with a lower-body injury, and that took him awhile to recover from – costing him some December production even after he returned. So the numbers aren't quite as ugly as they look. With Red Deer, who hosted the Memorial Cup, things did improve somewhat as he got his timing back. And in the playoffs DeBrusk posted 17 points in 17 games, second on the team. In the Memorial Cup tournament he added another four points in four games, but was minus-4. Still lots to learn and he'll get a chance to do it at the pro level against men in the AHL in 2016-17. Dobber

June 2015 – The Boston Bruins select 42 goal scorer Jake DeBrusk with the 14th overall pick of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. Brendan Ross

March 2015 – Son of former NHL tough guy, Louie DeBrusk, son Jake has already smashed his freshman totals midway through the WHL schedule as he currently sits with 35 goals and 62 points (59 games). DeBrusk is a clever attacker who relies on great positioning and quick clever puck movement to maximize possession time with his linemates. He has a great knack for timing passes, shots and arrivals into scoring areas and capitalizing on them instantly. DeBrusk has shown a knack for cashing in on opportunities around the blue paint making teams pay around the net. Scouts will love his passion and his scoring instincts both of which are promising attributes for a solid NHL career. DeBrusk leads all first time draft eligible from the WHL in goals. Fantasy Outlook: C

Natural goal-scorer who projects as a top-nine winger. He will need to round out his defensive game to improve his NHL odds.
