Observations:

May 2015 – Zac finished the year with 21 games played and three points in the NHL, he was a regular scratch or send down/call up throughout the year. His two-way contract helped him to see at least some time in the NHL, but he couldn't do anything with the ice time. In the AHL he played 44 games and scored 28 points (0.64 pts/game). In his five year NHL career he has never been able to find his scoring touch like he has in the AHL. He should be off everyone's fantasy radar for the foreseeable future. Unable to develop into a scoring line forward at the NHL level, Dalpe is almost certainly a career AHL forward. Paul Zwambag

July 2014 – Not given a qualifying offer by the Canucks, Dalpe may have hit rock bottom. He signed with the Sabres, but it was a two-way deal and he will likely be in the minors in the season ahead. Not draftable in fantasy hockey leagues. Dobber

February 2014 – Dalpe has finally established himself as an NHL forward, albeit a fourth liner. In 42 games this season, averaging 7:12 minutes a game, he has produced only six points. That looks better once you put it in perspective though. He has started less than a quarter of his shifts in the offensive zone and is playing with some pretty unskilled line-mates. As a credit to him, he is outshooting all of the other fourth-liners the Canucks have employed this season. If he can continue to work his way up from here, there may be a middle-six future for Zac Dalpe still. Austin Wallace

September 2013 – Zac Dalpe has been traded to Vancouver along with Jeremy Welsh in exchange for a fourth round pick and forward Kellan Tochkin. Dalpe had a good preseason but his game has not translated to the pros the way Carolina hoped, a change of scenery could kick start his career. Austin Wallace

September 2013 – Zac Dalpe continues to progress nicely. Dalpe scored a goal in a recent scrimmage and has been impressive on the ice. Dalpe will see time with the Canes this season, how much time is up to him. Austin Wallace

July 2013 – A promising young prospect for Carolina, Dalpe has been qualified and should continue to develop into the scoring threat he is capable of at the NHL level. Dalpe had a great season for the Charlotte Checkers and should make the jump to the NHL in the coming season. Dalpe loves to shoot and Carolina could use an accurate and abundant shooter of his caliber in the very near future. Andrew Ward

March 2013 – Currently he is a top line scoring threat for the Charlotte Checkers of the AHL, and leads the team with a plus-15 rating. He has 12 multi point games thus far and had put an impressive string together at one point with a seven game point streak, four of which he put up a deuce. He is shooting a ton of pucks, averaging 3.2 shots-per-game and has only been held shot-less in the second game of the season. He is still off his 2010-11 point pace, but he should eclipse his best goal total so far and that is what should vault him into the NHL next season. He has seen a couple call ups, and should Carolina start skidding in the late season, they will no doubt give Dalpe the opportunity to inject life into the playoff race. Teams that are floundering in their ‘keeper’ leagues may want to snare Dalpe and hold him in hopes he sees top nine ice in Carolina next season. Jason Banks

February 2012 – Dalpe forewent his final two years at Ohio St. (CCHA) to join the Hurricanes organization in spring of 2010. He possesses great raw offensive instincts with an accurate shot. Posted solid numbers in two seasons in the AHL and will look to translate his numbers in NHL on consistent basis after developing all-around game in Charlotte. He initially made Carolina and auditioned on a line with Eric Staal, but was unproductive. The Canes expected too much, too soon and it may have pushed his development back by a season. He's a surefire NHLer, but his upside will depend on the club's patience. Russ Bitely

Fantasy Outlook: D

Dalpe has squandered his opportunities and is likely a career AHL player.
