Observations:

February 2016 – Eric O'Dell has been traded to the Sabres along with teammates Alex Guptill, Cole Schneider and Michael Sdao in a seven player trade between Ottawa and Buffalo. Jason Akeson, Phil Varone and Jerome Gauthier-Leduc are headed to the Senators.  O'Dell was Binghamton's second overall goal scorer with 18 goals, 19 assists for 37 points behind only Cole Schneider. O'Dell will join the Amerks to make a push for the AHL playoffs, the Amerks still have 20 games to play. It will be interesting to see where O'Dell will line up in the Amerks lines, should have more information within the first few games he plays with the Amerks. – Paul Zwambag

July 2015 – Eric signed a one year two way deal with Ottawa on the first day of free agency keeping to Bryan Murray's plan of getting local talent. The Ottawa native will likely be a top center in Binghamton with a chance of call up if there are injuries down the middle if the team doesn't feel comfortable sliding someone like Curtis Lazar who played center in junio but has yet to get much action there in the NHL. – Benjamin Gallant

March 2014 – Eric O'Dell has currently seen 18 games and has scored 4 points in that time. In recent games, he has seen his ice time spike to around 15 minutes per game. After posting two straight seasons of around a point per game in the AHL, it seems that the former second-rounder's chance to solidify himself on the roster is now. With Winnipeg's chances of making the playoffs looking thinner and thinner, it seems as if the management may be giving more minutes to O'Dell to audition him for next season. –Kevin Won

June 2013 – After an excellent sophomore season, O’Dell is on the cusp of making the NHL on a team that’s becoming accustom to pulling young player from below radar. He was a fantastic complimentary junior scorer who lived on the power play, an attribute that has not changed as he threw 10 power play tallies on the board in 59 games last season. With the Jets stretching to find offence, they could do worse than recalling a specialist such as him. In all likely hood he will remain in the AHL, but should he be called upon, watch closely to his use, not his minutes but more so situational and line mates. Jason Banks

Fantasy Outlook: C

He has a knack for finding the back of the net but struggles against larger opponents and must overcome them to become an NHL regular. He is best utilized in man advantage roles or with open space.
