Observations:
October 2017 – The Hawks never made Radke a contract offer and he became a free agent and signed in the Liiga where he will begin his pro career. Peter Harling
April 2016 – As a native of Chicago, the Blackhawks made Radke’s dream come true when they drafted him in the sixth round last June. He took a step forward in his second season with the Barrie Colts this past year, notching 19 goals and 20 assists in 66 games. The playoffs have been another story altogether, as Radke has yet to hit the scoresheet in 13 games as the Colts currently vie for the OHL’s Eastern Conference title.
As a sixth round pick, Radke still has lots of work to do if he wants to fulfill his boyhood dream of wearing the Blackhawks jersey in the NHL. He has decent size and possesses an NHL ready shot. And while the tools are there for him to put it together and develop into a regular in the NHL, he will need to work on his skating and puck handling if he wants to get there. Looking ahead, Radke will spend another year with the Barrie Colts, likely getting more of a chance to contribute offensively with the departures of guys like Justin Scott and Kevin Labanc. We are still years away from seeing him make an impact at the NHL level. Matt Donohue
Has makings of bottom-six winger at the NHL level.
