Observations:
February 2017- Morin has once again been dealt this time to the Arizona Coyotes for Stefan Fournier. He's expected to provide Tucson, Arizona's AHL affiliate, with a veteran scorer on a team that expects to lose players from call-ups to the Coyotes as they are going to be a seller at the trade deadline. August 2016 – Jeremy Morin signed with the Tampa Bay Lightning as a free agent in July and will likely play for Syracuse in the AHL. – Peter Harling
February 2016 – Morin was swapped two days before the NHL trade deadline to the San Jose Sharks with goalie James Reimer for netminder Alex Stalock, forward Ben Smith and a conditional fourth-round pick in the 2018 draft. Mark Allan
January 2016 – The Toronto Maple Leafs swung a minor-league trade on January 3rd shipping 24-year-old Richard Panik to the Chicago Blackhawks for 2009 2nd rounder Jeremy Morin. Spanning six seasons, Morin has skated in 82 games with the Blackhawks scoring 10 goals and 22 points. He's recorded nine goals and 22 points with Rockford in 2015-16 over 28 games and is expected to report to the Toronto Marlies. Brendan Ross
November 2015 – Just when Morin had finally gotten his wish and was shipped out of Chicago last December, he was reacquired from Columbus on July 1 as part of the Brandon Saad deal. Despite finishing the 2014-15 season with the Blue Jackets, Morin has spent the entirety of this season riding the bus in the AHL with the Rockford IceHogs. He currently sits second on the team in scoring with five goals and six assists through 17 games. The 24 year-old is quickly running out of chances, and it is starting to look like Morin may never fulfill the potential that led him to being drafted in the second round back in 2009. Matt Donohue
January 2015 – Morin was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets for fellow prospect Tim Erixon on December 14th, ending a rather tumultuous marriage with Chicago. Despite showing flashes during his tenure with the Blackhawks, Morin played in just 54 games with the big club over parts of five seasons. Fantasy owners who have been waiting on Morin are hoping that the change of scenery will spark the 23 year old. In 12 games with the Jackets, Morin has just one goal and two assists. The positive for now is that he is getting regular NHL minutes as opposed to the AHL. It will be interesting to see if he can take advantage of the injuries and thin depth chart in Columbus and stake his claim to a regular spot in the lineup in 2015. Matt Donohue
March 2014 – Jeremy Morin was named the CCM/AHL Player of the Month earning a point in all 11 contests in the month of February. The point-per-game AHLer notched nine goals and 18 points in 11 games helping the Rockford IceHogs to an unbeaten 9-0-1-1 record. Morin is very close to making the full-time jump to the Chicago Blackhawks and should be owned in most keeper formats. Brendan Ross
June 2013- Morin turned in his best pro season as he finished third on the Icehogs in points with 58. The 58 points represented a healthy 18 point jump from the previous season. He still racked up 86 PIM, but the decrease there from his high of 121 shows he's learning to play more disciplined hockey, but without abandoning his physical style. Depending on how the 'Hawks go about creating space under the new, lower, salary cap, the door may be opened a bit for guys like Morin to make the roster next season. That said, it's still most likely that Morin plays the majority of the 2013-14 season in Rockford. Rex Doty
March 2012 – Morin was a highly touted American prospect coming out of the USNTDP and also the OHL’s Kitchener Rangers. He is a good stick handler with a decent shot, but his skating ability has caught up with him in his first two pro seasons. He definitely isn’t afraid to play the physical game and work the corners penalty minutes are outpacing the goal output in the AHL. Russ Bitely
Morin possesses the goal-scoring touch but has yet to demonstrate consistently at the pro level. No longer considered a top prospect he seems more of a minor-league scorer at this point.
