June 20203 – Slaggert has decided that he will be returning back for his final year with Notre Dame before turning pro. This was a family decision that Slaggert decided upon as his younger brother will be a freshman at Notre Dame and wanted to play alongside him and his father is also the associate head coach at the University. Puneet Sharma

December 2020 – Slaggert has been named to Team USA for the 2021 WJHC. This honor comes after being drafted in the third round by the Blackhawks in the 2020 NHL entry draft. Slaggert is a project but brings a willingness to learn and get better every time he’s on the ice. His biggest asset is his motor, which is always turned on. This allows him to disrupt things in the offensive zone as the opposing defencemen always need to be aware of where he is. Defensively, he plays a decent game, understanding where he needs to be depending on the situation. A player like Slaggert will make mistakes but it’s his Marian Hossa-like desire to make up for those mistakes that will endear him to both coaches and fans alike. Tony Carr
