May 2022 – A smart defenseman with good size and speed, Lacombe had a successful junior campaign for Univ. of Minnesota. He has elected to play out his senior year, which means if he so chooses – he could become a UFA next summer. Anaheim will do everything they can to sign him though, as he is a potential second-pairing defenseman and second PP unit quarterback. – Dobber

December 2020 – The 2019 second round pick of the Ducks has made Team USA at the 2021 World Junior Championship. The smooth skating defenseman is currently paired with Jake Sanderson and registered one assist in their preliminary match against Finland. He will quarterback the second power-play unit and should gain a ton of confidence by playing with this stacked American team. Lucas Main

June 2019 – LaCombe was selected in the second round in the 2019 NHL Draft by the Anaheim Ducks. He is a forward turned defenseman so he has offensive instincts with good wheels already. He makes a good first pass out of the zone and can zip it tape-to-tape. His skating allows him to control the game flow.

The Ducks don’t have a ton of depth in the pipeline when it comes to offensive defensemen and with his puck skills he has the potential to quarterback a top powerplay unit.
