March 2020 – It has been a difficult season for the recently turned 19-year-old. Keppen had been suffering on a tragic Flint team for the past two seasons. This year, the club made marked improvements but Keppen spent a large chunk of it on the sidelines dealing with injuries. A reduction in both goals-per-game and points-per-game aren’t exactly what you want to see from a d+1 skater. However, he’ll return to Flint next season as a veteran and should be leaned on heavily. Cam Robinson

June 2019 – The Canucks selected Keppen with the 122nd pick in the 2019 NHL Draft. The big-bodied winger was a play-driver for Flint, scoring 30 goals and 59 points in 68 games. His metrics shone during even-strength play. His 18 EV goals were fourth for all OHL draft-eligible players. His 18 primary, even-strength assists sat third, and his even-strength shot generation trailed only Arthur Kaliyev. Flint managed just 16 games this past season, so in a difficult situation, Keppen produced admirably.

He brings a physical, tenacious work ethic and average speed. He has upside in a multicategory setup with a realistic likelihood of becoming a bottom-six NHLer. Cam Robinson
