Bobby Brink

October 2024 – The Flyers resigned Brink over the summer after a solid rookie season. Brink will likely begin the year on the Flyers third line and could see power play time on the Flyers second unit. James Iacovone

June 2023 – After missing the first half of the 2022-23 season (hip surgery), Brink returned to the lineup in January and spent the second half of the regular season with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms scoring 12 goals, 16 assists for 28 points, in 41 games. He will play the final season of his entry-level contract in 2023-24. Mark Henry

July 2022 – Brink underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left hip. Originally expected to compete for a Flyers roster spot this season, he is expected to miss approximately five months. Once Brink is ready to return to the ice, he will likely need a significant stint in the AHL with Lehigh Valley before receiving an opportunity with Philadelphia. John Gove

May 2022 – The Flyers received a brief look at what they have in Bobby Brink after signing him to his entry-level deal. Finishing up his Junior season at Denver as National Champion and Hobey Baker finalist, Brink played 10 games with Philadelphia, recording four assists. Although he looked competent playing for a young group struggling to grab any hope from a lost season, Brink seems best suited to start next year with Lehigh Valley. Of course, Brink’s likelihood of making the NHL roster hinges on management’s direction with the franchise. If they stick to an “aggressive retool” mentality, Brink’s potential spot may be taken by someone with a more dense NHL resume. Predicting a mid-season call-up is far from out of the question, especially with Philadelphia’s injury history. John Gove

November 2020 – Brink got stronger as last season went on and his skating deficiencies are slowly becoming less concerning. He got better on his edges as the years went on and got noticeably better in scrums and in traffic. The Portland Winterhawks has an outside chance of landing his services given the uncertainty around NCAA hockey along with Brink’s desire to play, provided that the Western Hockey League 2020-2021 season starts as planned. Regardless, he really ought to stay out of the NHL for the time being to minimize the limitations to his game. Edric Joseph

December 2019 – Brink has been yielding a real nice return on investment for the Flyers with 11 points through 14 college games. He is reminding everyone in why he was ranked so highly going into the 2019 NHL Draft. He is still slight of build, although his skating is showing some improvement. Through it all his mind for the game and his adept hands made as smooth a transition to the NCAA level as one can ask for. Like most other good hockey players, Brink is one that sees the game slower rather than faster. Edric Joseph

April 2019 – After feasting on the USHL competition this season, Brink was the lone non-NTDP addition to the American squad that the World U18 Championships. He’s looked dangerous alongside Matt Boldy and Alex Turcotte at even strength. Brink finds soft spaces and makes the opposition pay in a hurry. Can read the play quicker than most and boasts the vision and release to act as a dual threat. An elite brain. On the flip side, he owns an ugly stride that lacks quickness or impressive top-end speed. He’ll need to place immense focus on that skill or risks falling behind when he levels up to the professional ranks. He’s off to the University of Denver in the fall. Cam Robinson
