August 2023 – On Tuesday, August 1, 2023, Bump asked for his release from the University of Vermont and will enter the transfer portal. Bump attended the Flyers’ development camp in early July and impressed the new front office with his improvement since being drafted in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. The 19-year-old winger played for the Omaha Lancers and the Tri-City Storm in the USHL last season; he scored 39 points (14 goals and 25 assists) in 48 games and wore the “A” for the Lancers. July 2022 – Bump has been selected by the Philadelphia Flyers with the 133rd overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft. He will spend the 2022-23 season in the USHL with the Omaha Lancers before joining the University of Vermont for 2023-24. John Gove
