May 2025 – Komarov joined the Rochester Americans for his rookie AHL campaign, contributing two goals and eighteen points in 69 games. Paired mostly with Kale Clague, his campaign has mostly been about making adjustments to the professional level as a defender. His decision-making and tendencies remain inconsistent. Additionally, he is not regularly utilized in power play situations. Despite this, he has found opportunities to inject some of his offensive talent into his performances and has received over 18 minutes of ice time per game. Kevin Wong

January 2024 – Komarov signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Sabres in May 2023. He began the 2023-2024 season with the Quebec Remparts, recording nineteen points in 22 games. He was subsequently traded in December 2023 to Drummondville. He has increased his offensive output significantly this season, matching last season’s total of 39 points in nearly half as many games. January 2023 – Since being traded to Drummondville, Komarov has settled in nicely as the PPQB, exploding for 16 points in 13 games. That includes a three-point effort in his debut. His shot from the point is being used more on his new team and we’re seeing just how effective it can be. He’ll be 20 next season and it’s entirely possible that he becomes a 25-goal scorer at this level. Still three years away. Dobber

May 2023 – In his second year with the Quebec Remparts of the QMJHL, Komarov took a significant step forward offensively. He played on his team’s power play and contributed 12 goals and 39 points in 62 regular-season games. His defensive game has improved, as he had once commonly been quite out of position and slow to react to his opponent’s forecheck. He is not the quickest defender; thus, strength and proper timing are necessary for him to succeed. He uses his strength in traffic, particularly in front of his own goaltender. Offensively, Komarov has assumed a greater role this season. He has seven points in 15 games so far in the 2023 QMJHL playoffs. His team is currently facing the Halifax Mooseheads in the Final.
