October 2020 – The fringe NHL forward was not tendered a qualifying offer by the New York Rangers. As such he became an unrestricted free-agent, and signed a one-year tw-way contract with the Anaheim Ducks. Based on the terms of his contract, it’s likely that he’ll remain a fringe NHL player with tht organizaion. Brayden Olafson

October 2019 – The college graduate, Lettieri, has quickly become one of the Hartford Wolfpack’s most valuable contributors. His experience in the NHL since graduating at the University of Minnesota has been sparse, and he’s been gradually shuffled down the depth chart as the organization acquires new talented forwards. His value to the organization will ultimately be judged this offseason as he approaches the expiration of his entry-level contract. At 24-years-old, Lettieri still has the potential to earn a depth scoring role on an NHL team that has a fit for him, however, the trajectory of the Rangers makes it seem unlikely that it will be with them. Brayden Olafson

June 2018 – Golden Gopher alumnus and free-agent signee, Lettieri was a beacon of hope for the Rangers’ struggling farm team in Hartford. His offensive production gave fans reason for optimism early in the season, and added to the teams’ depth options during their transition period. Unfortunately, Lettieri’s offense sputtered toward the end of the campaign, around the time that he was shuffled back and forth between the NHL and AHL squads. Lettieri’s shoot-first mentality and right-hand shot remain a rare commodity in the team’s pool and will keep him relevant as a prospect for the time being. He might simply need to make some minor adjustments to his mindset going into his sophomore pro season that could entirely turn the chart upward in terms of his professional trajectory – for now though, Lettieri will remain a heavy AHL contributor. The Rangers are expected to be playing the free-agent market for depth upfront which could further hinder his chances of cracking the NHL lineup in 2018-19. In the case of injuries in the Rangers forward corps, keep an eye on Lettieri for a call-up, in which case he would likely be slotted into an offensive role and could become a valuable waiver-wire acquisition.
