Viktor Fedorov

September 2026 – Fedorov completed a rite of passage for many Russian prospects, shuffling between the MHL, VHL and KHL in his draft year. He skated in 18, 32 and 13 games at each level, respectively. It is uncommon for an 18 year-old who isn’t a phenom to get regular ice time at the KHL/VHL levels, and Fedorov was no exception. Throughout the year he was frequently limited to short shifts, and saw less than 10 minutes of ice in both leagues- sometimes less than five in the KHL.

The book on Fedorov is that his playmaking and motor are the keys to his game. He will need more time to settle into a role at one specific level to stabilize his development and carve out his niche in order for us to effectively gauge his potential. As managers, we want to see him spend more time in the KHL when not featuring strongly in the MHL. Very few NHLers have spent a large amount of time in the VHL, and those who did were top-end point producers for their age level. Pavel Dorofeyev stands out as but one example, and his time was limited.

It is too early to tell what the Kraken or fantasy managers would have in Fedorov, so prepare for a long wait. At first, deployment will mean as much if not more than performance. Alex Wyatt

April 2026 – Fyodorov spent the season moving between the MHL, VHL, and KHL, a strong developmental track for a 5-10 draft-eligible center even if the raw scoring has not fully arrived at the top level yet. He plays a mature, structured game, showing reliable defensive habits, middle-lane support, and the ability to handle tougher minutes without getting out of rhythm. The offensive upside looks better than the counting stats suggest. Tracking data points to strong transition results and positive Fenwick impacts in the KHL, while his VHL play has been more efficient and his MHL work has been dominant. With the puck, he has shown more willingness late in the season to push possession himself through the neutral zone rather than defer, which is an encouraging sign for his projection. He may not carry the same pure fantasy ceiling as some of the higher-end skill forwards in this class, but the combination of translatable two-way detail, pace, and improving offensive confidence gives him a legitimate chance to grow into a meaningful NHL contributor. October 2025 – Split early season between the MHL, the VHL, and a brief KHL cameo for Torpedo. Listed at 5-10 and 176 with a left shot, he plays fast within structure: constant shoulder checks before first touch, quick give-backs, and tic-tac-toe routes through the slot. First three steps are lively, edges let him cut back under pressure, and he shows a catch-and-release wrister from the dots plus slip passes through triangles. Off puck, he stays connected, arrives early to space, and supports exits through the middle. Versus men in the VHL, he handled pace, though heavy traffic still knocks him off plan at times, and he can be early on entries without a delay option. Continued reps against pros should sharpen under-pressure poise and blue-line deception. With the current trajectory across Chaika, Torpedo-Gorky, and Torpedo, the path is toward top-six potential if strength and patience continue to progress. Andrew Epps
