August 2024 – His rights were traded by the Lightning to the Anaheim Ducks, then promptly traded to the Edmonton Oilers. Unless Taylor has a miracle turnaround to a degree never seen before, he is not ever playing in the NHL. Markus Roach
May 2023 – After an unimpressive collegiate career, Taylor made one appearance with Tampa Bay’s ECHL team, the Orlando Solar Bears, before signing in the EIHL with the Glasgow Clan. His performances across the pond were arguably worse in his first season with Glasgow, and it’s unknown if Taylor will return for the 2023-24 season. Wade Messier
November 2019 – Taylor enters his Sophomore college season in the same role as his Freshman season, as he once again assumed the role of backup behind Junior netminder Mike Robinson at the University of New Hampshire. Taylor has only played in two games to this point in the season and has seen middling results, as he currently sits at a 2.91 goals-against average and a .872 save percentage, which is an improvement for the 6’3 netminder at this level. Taylor might not see much ice for the Wildcats this season, which does not bode well for his overall projection. Brandon Holmes
June 2018 – With their final pick in the 2018 Entry Draft, the Lightning selected a second netminder in Ty Taylor from the Vernon Vipers of the BCHL. As an 18-year-old, Taylor started 31 games for the Vipers posting a stellar save percentage (0.931) and GAA (1.87). With three goaltenders selected in the last two entry drafts, the Lightning have replenished their depth behind Andrei Vasilevsky and Louis Domingue quite thoroughly. Taylor will join the UNH Wildcats where he’ll work to earn the starting role and develop his game over the next four years. Brayden Olafson
