July 2025 – In a move that was a shock to some, Andreyanov was announced to have signed a five-year contract with CSKA Moskva of the KHL. The length of the contract, and the fact that it comes on the heels of the Blue Jackets drafting Andreyanov 20th overall just weeks ago will certainly put some stress into the Columbus faithful. He will be 23 years old at the culmination of the contract and rare is the goalie who meaningfully establishes himself in the NHL prior to that age. The news doesn’t diminish Andreyanov’s talent and skill, and fits a reasonable goalie development timeline. Fantasy managers and Blue Jackets’ fans will now need to hope that developing in a familiar region in a professional league brings out the best in the young netminder. – Alex Wyatt
