July 2022 Khodorenko completed his first full season with the Hartford Wolf Pack this past season, tallying 10 goals and 17 assists for 27 points in 66 games played. The 23-year-old Khodorenko has one year remaining on the ELC that he signed with the Rangers in March of 2020. After the organization moved on from a handful of top-9 players from the Hartford squad, Khodorenko is poised to try to take advantage of what will presumably be a larger role this upcoming season. He hopes to stand out to the Hartford management and earn a call up to the Rangers at some point during the 2022-2023 season, which may be his best, and possibly only, opportunity to prove that he deserves a look at the NHL level. August 2021 – Brought into the Rangers fold as a potential late-blooming offensive talent, Khodorenko spent the entirety of his rookie professional campaign in the AHL with the Hartford Wolfpack. Throughout the year, the Michigan alumni spent most of his time being deployed in a checking role, accruing a modest amount of production in a way that would be expected in that type of role. In terms of how his speed and puck handling has adjusted, it didn’t seem as though he was ready to compete for much more of a role than that though, with more experienced and skilled prospects retaining their depth chart advantage over him. March 2020 – The New York Rangers have come to terms on an entry-level contract with Michigan Senior Patrick Khodorenko. The 21-year-old center went undrafted in 2017 and 2018 despite being generally ranked as a player who could have gone as early as the fourth round. He was likely a target after his Junior year but opted to complete his education. He has been the dominant force among Michigan’s offensive producers since his sophomore season, and enters the Rangers depth chart in tight competition with Morgan Barron for their third-ranked center.
