Fantasy Summary

A big, athletic goalie, Bow doesn’t have the hype of Oettinger and Point but is currently the No.3 on the depth chart and has been impressive so far in the minors.

May 2019- When you think of Dallas goalie prospects, Landon Bow probably isn’t a name that pops up in your head. But the undrafted netminder is quickly making a name for himself. After a strong four years in the WHL, Dallas signed Bow to an AHL contract after the 2015-16 season, one that saw him star for Swift Current and Seattle as an overage goalie. He spent most of his first pro year in the ECHL, but finished as one of the best goalies in that league and impressed the Stars brass anytime they saw him play. That was enough to earn Bow an NHL entry-level contract with Dallas. In his first year of the ELC, Bow was expected to play behind AHL vets Mike McKenna and Philippe Desrosiers but as the season went along he soon found himself the Texas Stars main man between the pipes, posting the best stats among the three. This past year Bow once again was Texas No.1 goalie, earning that position over Desrosiers and hyped netminder prospect Colton Point. With Ben Bishop missing some time with injuries, Bow saw his first recall to the NHL, appearing in two games but posting very impressive stats, .947 SV% and 1.03 GAA. This coming season, Bow is expected to be No.1 in the Texas crease again but will have to fight off top goaltender prospects in Point and Jake Oettinger for starts. A big (6-5), athletic netminder, Bow reads the play very well and has excellent reflex’s. Texas Stars goalie coach Jim Bedard raves about Bow’s “goalie IQ” and compares him to Nashville netminder Pekka Rinne. That’s some pretty high praise but Bow has been impressive so far. Keith Duggan
