August 2023 – Lopina has a lot of work to do if he ever wants to grace an NHL lineup. He scored only four points in 59 games for the San Diego Gulls this past year and showed that he really struggled in his second full year, after missing most of the previous season, on the worst AHL team. He had a successful two seasons at UMass-Amherst in H-East, finishing near the top of the lineup in scoring both years but has not been able to translate his skill to the professional game. He is already 22-years-old so he only has a couple more years to prove he can be a long-term member of the Anaheim Ducks organization. Of all the Ducks prospects, Lopina desperately needs a strong 2023-24 season. Naftali Clinton
May 2022 – Lopina signed his entry level contract after he finished his sophomore season at UMass. He improved his offensive numbers in his second season, recording a career high 12 goals and 15 assists in 27 games. If he cracks an NHL roster, it will be for his play without the puck. The Illinois native is great at faceoffs, smart in his zone, and has the willingness to block shots. The improvement in points is added gravy. Lucas Main
