March 2019 – Lyytinen signed an entry-level contract with the Predators in 2017 but has since been released from his contract. Lyytinen was never able to perform at the AHL level and managed just three assists in twenty games this season. As it appears right now, Lyytinen will be a great player in Finland but not capable of much in North America. Lyytinen has since returned to Finland and is currently playing for HIFK in the Finnish elite league. Matt Somma
June 2017 – The Predators signed Lyytinen to a two-year entry-level contract, only eighteen days after he signed a two-year contract with a fellow Finnish team Oulun Kärpät. The 21-year old defender has played his entire career with Kalpa in the Liiga. Lyytinen scored eight goals (tied seventh in goals among defensemen) and 24 points in 54 games this season during the regular season. He helped the team to a silver medal with seven points in eighteen postseason games.
Lyytinen is creative with the puck, and his transition game has been excellent. A skilled and intelligent defender that relies on his positioning and active stick to fend of attackers. Niko Salminen
