May 2017 – Phillips has done well in the NCAA and ECHL, and should have an opportunity to do so in the AHL in 2017-18. He displays impressive, quick lateral movement, which helps him cut off angles and effectively get to a range of difficult shots. Tallied a 28-9-2 NCAA record, 1.74 GAA, .933 save percentage and Hobey Baker nomination as a junior at Michigan Tech. Named an all-star with ECHL’s Tulsa Oilers last year, and replaced Eric Comrie at AHL Manitoba for an 11-game stint.

He’s not the youngest prospect, as he’ll turn 25 in next season’s late stages, so he must run with every chance. Could add physical strength, and work on controlling rebounds. Kevin Wickersham
