September 2026 – Harris Pangretitsch is a big, physical shutdown defenseman the Ottawa Senators selected 151st overall, exactly the late-blooming project the franchise tends to favor.

At 6-foot-4 and 219 pounds he was one of the most improved players in the Ontario Hockey League this past season, climbing from a No. 6 role to legitimate top-four minutes for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds and eating heavy penalty-kill time by year’s end.

The game is defense first. He suffocates rushers with strong angling and poke-check speed, plays a pacey, physical game down low, ties up sticks at the net front, and makes quick retrievals, a formidable defender who turns creative attacks into clean stops. The offense is minimal, so this is a projection built on size, mobility, and defending rather than production. He returns to the Greyhounds for 2026-27.
