March 2023 – White has signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Dallas Stars. Taylor Newby
December 2022 – Gavin White is in the midst of an amazing season. With 18 points in 17 games, he is 4th among OHL defensemen in points-per-game. His defensive game needs a lot of work, however. He has high-end speed, but he finds himself lost on the back-check at times. While his offensive creativity thrives, he is prone to turnovers when he can’t complete plays. At 20 years old, it will be a tough transition to professional hockey for white. Whether he starts next season in the AHL or the ECHL, he has a long road to the NHL. At 161 pounds, he will also need to bulk up as he enters a more physical league. On the other hand, his pure offensive IQ gives hope that White can become an impact player at the NHL level.
