June 2022 – Laroque was a bit of a surprise selection in the fourth round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft — however, he rewarded the Sharks faith with a substantial step forward in his second full WHL season. He scored 52 points in 63 games to finish 10th in league scoring by a defenseman and was one of a few bright spots on an otherwise weak Victoria Royals team. Laroque has already been named captain for the Royals next season and will look to solidify his newfound offensive streak. Donesh Mazloum
