Fantasy Summary

Del Mastro is a big body stay at home defensemen who can eat up a lot of minutes. He has been trusted to be placed in big game moments where he can shut down the opposing team’s offence. He is a strong two-way defenseman with a great hockey IQ and the capabilities of being a solid second paring NHL defenseman.

April 2025 – Ethan Del Mastro has quietly emerged as a reliable shutdown defenseman for Rockford. His physicality and defensive prowess have made him a strong presence on the blue line. After earning a call-up to Chicago in February, Del Mastro made an immediate impact, recording his first NHL point against Minnesota. His ability to handle tough defensive assignments and play with poise under pressure has made him a valuable asset at both the AHL and NHL levels. If he continues to develop, Del Mastro has the tools to become a dependable top-four defenseman for Chicago. Puneet Sharma

May 2023 – Del Mastro was traded from the Steelheads to the Sarnia Sting in early January of this year. Since the acquisition, he posted over a point per game with 5 goals and 33 assists in 30 games.  He played valuable minutes during the World Juniors for Team Canada and also helped lead the Sting to the semi-finals in hopes for the Ross Robertson Cup before being ousted by the London Knights.  You can expect to see Del Mastro move up to the Chicago Blackhawks’ AHL affiliate, the Rockford Icehogs this year.  With what we have seen so far from Del Mastro, all signs indicate that he will have an immediate and positive impact on the Icehogs. December 2022 – Ethan Del Mastro has been chosen to represent Canada for the upcoming IIHF WJC.  Del Mastro has been playing well this year for the Mississauga Stealheads posting two goals and 19 assist over 22 games, nearly a point per game pace.  This coming WJC Del Mastro will be heavily relied for this defensive game however with this current production with the Stealheads do not be surprise if you see him on the score sheet over the course of the tournament.
