May 2023 – Roger did not progress as much in 2022-2023 as one would like a 2nd round draft pick to do in their D+2 year. He struggled a little in Kingston of the OHL with 13 points in 49 games as a 20-year-old. He might not be ready for the AHL, but Ottawa will want him to succeed, so look for him to be worked into Belleville slowly. If one of Bernard-Docker, Thomson or Guenette make the Senators, it would open up a spot for him. There is also a scenario, where Ottawa does not sign Roger and moves on, but that is unlikely. Grant Campbell
June 2022 – Roger split last season in the OHL between London and Kingston and ended up with 55 games, scoring one goal and adding 12 assists. It was just good to see Roger back playing as he missed all of the 2020-21 season as a lot of other OHL players. Even though he turns 20 in November, expect him back in Kingston for another season as he won’t be eligible for the AHL. The more ice time the better for Roger. Grant Campbell
July 2021- With the 49th overall pick in the 2021 NHL draft, the Ottawa Senators selected Roger from the London Knights of the OHL. Limited game time over the past year has meant that Roger received very little attention, despite the progress that he has been making off the ice and behind closed doors. He is definitely a project for the Senators to work with over the next few years, but his strong work ethic leads me to believe that we will see some interesting development with his on-ice play in the upcoming season with the Knights.
