Fantasy Summary
A jack of all trades in the American League, Broadhurst could carve out an NHL future as a penalty-killing, bottom-six sparkplug given the right circumstances

February 2019 – Broadhurst has been traded from Columbus to Winnipeg. Jokke Nevalainen
January 2018 – Following a prolific, 108-game USHL run (39 G, 67 A) and OHL London Knights’ campaign (24 G, 40 A in 65 games), wearing the “undersized” label Broadhurst embarked on a now four-year AHL career as a staple for Rockford and Lake Erie/Cleveland. His progress was slowed by injuries claiming significant portions of his initial two pro campaigns. Coming to Ohio as part of the original Brandon Saad deal, he’s currently a Monsters’ assistant captain who, at age 24 still has an outside chance to reach the NHL particularly considering recent, long-term CBJ center and wing injuries. His veteran leadership and tireless work ethic on an extremely young squad sliced by NHL call-ups and injury, has been praised by head coach and ex-NHLer John Madden. Serving at times on a first line with top prospect Calvin Thurkauf and his older brother Terry, Broadhurst is among team leaders in goals and points. A solid two-way player, he’s displaying a perhaps understandable chemistry skating with his sibling and Thurkauf in the middle, dishing timely passes and connecting with the net – tying for the team lead in goals during December. Kevin Wickersham
