Fantasy Summary

A high energy winger, with developing value in multi-cat leagues, but time will tell.

Observations

September 2026. Zach Lansard is a right-shot winger the Carolina Hurricanes took 68th overall, early in the third round and among the youngest players in the entire draft, since he did not turn 18 until late July. He broke out for the Regina Pats in 2025-26 with 24 goals and 56 points in 68 games after a 19-point rookie season, and he leaned on the power play, where he posted 17 of those points. Lansard is the engine of his line. He forechecks and backchecks at full tilt, and he wins pucks on retrievals and drives the inside. Elite Prospects framed the swing plainly: an extra layer of skill could make him a third-line scorer. Carolina’s own scouts praised his competitiveness and his sense around the net. He returns to Regina for a larger role before an eventual move to Minnesota-Duluth. For fantasy he is an effort-and-motor winger whose value hinges on whether the skill catches up to the compete, and his youth buys him development. time. That combination makes him a dynasty monitor, with his second Regina season and any jump in even-strength scoring the thing to watch before an add. Andrew Epps
