Fantasy Summary

Spiridonov is a two way center who excels at both ends of the ice, he’s particularly adept at killing penalties and winning puck battles along the boards.

Observations

July 2024 – Spiridonov spent time playing in the VHL and KHL last season. He is set to play for HK Sochi in 24-25. It seems unlikely that he will come to North America. John Gove

June 2022 – I think Spiridov’s heavy game and defensive prowess would be better suited in North America on small ice and every year he remains in Russia is a development year lost in my eyes. He has earned a handful of games at the KHL level however has primarily plied his trade in Russia’s second division VHL. While he plays with a high hockey IQ and predictive awareness he doesn’t bring many raw offensive tools to the table. I still think there is a potential third-line center available in his game but the stagnation he’s seen in Russia is a definite concern. Donesh Mazloum

December 2020 – In his final year of eligibility, Spiridonov will be one of fourteen forwards suiting up for Team Russia in this year’s World Junior Championships. This will be his first time playing in the tournament. Spiridonov will join Sharks’ defensive prospect Artemi Kniazev as two (out of three) of San Jose’s representation at this year’s tournament. Alex Howes

June 2019 – The Sharks selected Spiridonov with the 108th pick in the fourth round of the 2019 NHL entry draft. Many outlets had Spiridonov ranked in the second round and the Sharks did well to move up and grab him. The Russian factor no doubt played a roll in Spiridonov falling as far as he did. Spiridonov is under contract in Russia for two more seasons, after that the Sharks will look to bring him over to North America. Chris Legg
