October 2020 – Bouchard passed through the 2020 NHL Draft without a selection, making him a free agent.  Jokke Nevalainen

February 2019 – The Golden Knights must be excited that Bouchard has had one of the top turnarounds of any player currently playing in the CHL. His draft stock plummeted over the course of last season and he eventually landed on the sixth round draft board when Vegas decided to select him on the hopes he could replicate his rookie season’s potential. Not only has he surpassed his career best QMJHL point totals in nearly 20 fewer games, his 60 point improvement from last year’s minus-30 to this year’s plus-30 is almost unheard of. He still has a long way to go as a prospect, but he is certainly trending in the right direction. Mason Black

October 2018 – Bouchard’s stock continued to fall over the course of the 2017-18 season and Vegas hopes that they grabbed a player in the 6^th round that was in an off-year. The monster 6’4” defender posted a reasonable 21 points in 65 games, but also came in last place with a plus/minus of minus-30 for Baie-Comeau in the QMJHL. There is no question that Bouchard is more of a stay-at-home defenseman and he’ll look to shake off last year’s inconsistent play and increase his offensive potential. Ten years ago, Bouchard would have probably found himself in the top two rounds, however his technique doesn’t coalesce with the fast-paced style of the NHL. The Golden Knights have the luxury of being patient with him.  Bouchard has started the 2018 season off much better than last year with seven points in 11 games played and a plus/minus of +11.  Mason Black
