July 2023 – Caamano signed a one-year, two-way contract. Taylor Newby

January 2023 – Caamano is finally back in the lineup for the Texas Stars after having back surgery in September 2022. Taylor Newby

June 2022 – Spending the 2021-22 season in the AHL, Caamano’s development has stagnated, and his point totals and overall impact have been disappointing. Despite playing 24 games in the NHL in the 2020-21 season, the talented Dallas roster kept him with very limited minutes, and it wasn’t a great fit. Probably staying in the AHL next season, Caamano is still only 23, with room to grow – however, still having trouble finding his footing in the AHL, there’s a lot of progress that needs to be done to have a genuine impact in the NHL. Aaron Itovitch

April 2018 – Caamano started the year with the Flint Firebirds and got traded to Hamilton in November. By moving from the 2nd worst OHL team to the 2nd best, he got the chance to play some playoff hockey. He’s proving to be a clutch performer so far as he produced at least one point in each of the 11 games he played. That performance brings his total to 15pts. Caamano developed recently in a volume shooter who’s averaging 3.7 shots per game which is the highest amount of all Hamilton Bulldogs players. Some of those shots comes from in tight as he doesn’t shy away from the traffic and physical play. He ranks 23rdin shot per game in the OHL. About his production, it might not seen as particularly spectacular but we must not forget that he played part of the year for the OHL worst offense and then went on to a very deep Hamilton squad. He could be more dangerous if he improves his shot. Jean-Philippe Macoul

September 2017 – Caamano has really impressed coach, Ken Hitchcock thus far in training camp and preseason. He scored a goal in the first preseason game of the season, which was also Caamano’s first look at professional hockey. Hitch claimed that Caamano had the “moxie” of a veteran. That is high praise for a prospect that just turned 19 years old. He’ll likely play the season in the OHL with the Flint Firebirds, but it’s interesting that Hitchcock already likes what he sees from the youngster. Matt Kowalski

July 2016 – Caamano was drafted at only 17, making him one of the youngest players selected in 2016. A two-way forward, his biggest assets are size and excellent skating ability. He has spent the past two years in the OHL for the Flint Firebirds, improving his scoring in 2015-16. Caamano may not project as an elite scorer at this stage of his development, but he’s still just 17, making it difficult to project his future. The next few years will be spent in the OHL, making him a long-term project. The Stars aren’t going to rush the power forward, so don’t expect him to make his debut for several years. Matt Kowalski
