Fantasy Summary

Offensive-minded defenseman fit for a bottom pairing and 2nd powerplay unit

June 2022 – In his first full professional season, Del Gaizo spent the majority of his time in a sheltered role in Milwaukee. He was usually deployed on the third pair with some powerplay time. There were times near the end of the season when he was able to shift into a top-four role and not look out of place. Although Del Gaizo only averaged 18 minutes per game this year, expect that to increase to at least 20+ in 2022-23 with a couple of potential departures on the left side of the Admirals’ defense. Curtis Rines

May 2021 – Del Gaizo signed an ELC with the Predators. He wrapped up his NCAA career in his third year with UMass-Amherst scoring 14 points in a 27 game shortened season. Del Gaizo figures to be a long-term prospect in the organization. Nicholas Kawka

March 2020 – After a delayed season debut from off-season shoulder surgery, Del Gaizo Has continued to serve as an offensive producer from the back-end.  While only playing in 22 games thus far, Del Gaizo has been producing at similar point totals than the year previous, however, his goal scoring has taken a hit, which could be a result of his surgery.  Del Gaizo still boasts great footwork and the ability to rush the puck and navigate through the neutral and hit streaking teammates with precision passing. He is just another solid prospect option on defense for Nashville. Nicholas Kawka

July 2019 – After selecting forwards at the top end of their draft class in 2019, the Predators chose over-aged offensive defenseman Marc Del Gaizo in Round 4.  Del Gaizo fits the mold of the new wave of point-producing blueliners. His smaller size and quickness allow him to escape oncoming forecheckers and make an effective outlet pass of start up ice on a solo rush.  Del Gaizo also shows strong lateral movement and great angling when defending in his own zone. He seldom loses a foot race and turns in stride with speedy forwards. While manning the point, he is very creative with the puck and confident, often looking off checkers and using creative ways to control and shield the puck.  Del Gaizo is in line for an increased role in Umass Amherst next season with the graduation of Cale Makar and could be in the Predators pro ranks in short order. – Nicholas Kawka
