Kieren Dervin

August 2025 – Dervin is a high-upside, low-risk player as a third-round pick; he is similar to Boston Bruins 2024 first-round pick (25th overall) Dean Letourneau. Dervin dominated at the prep level and held his own in limited OHL (Ontario Hockey League) action. He will return to the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League for the 2025-26 season before heading to the NCAA and playing at Penn State starting in the 2026-27 campaign.

Dervin has the potential to become a middle-six forward in the NHL, although his arrival time will be delayed due to his playing path over the next couple of seasons. If he can add strength and prove he can withstand the bigger, faster, stronger opponents at the NCAA level, he possesses the raw skill and two-way playing ability that could see him go straight to the NHL when his time arrives. A long-term project, Dervin should be rostered in deep dynasty leagues and shallow dynasty leagues; he, at worst, should be on your watch list. Mark Henry

Final Ranking – Dervin is a late-rising, skilled forward who showed real bottom-six potential in his limited OHL experience. Known for his slick puck handling and strong two-way play, he combines defensive awareness with offensive creativity. Though the sample size is small, his flashes of talent make him an intriguing prospect worth watching.—David Saad
