Jáchym Kondelík

March 2022 – The Predators have announced that they have signed Kondelík to a two-year, entry-level contract that will begin in the 2022-23 season. Kondelík’s production in the NCAA (33 points in 36 games) hasn’t taken the jump he was hoping for from last season, but there is still some upside in the 6’6” center. Curtis Rines

February 2020 – While his production is down this season, he remains a steady two-way fixture for UConn.  Kondelik continues to develop all facets of his game. He is playing a heavy dose of second-line minutes at center, powerplay duties and is seeing a regular shift shorthanded.  Kondelik is still filling out his 6 foot 5 frame and is looking like a solid middle of the lineup option at center at the next level. Nicholas Kawka

November 2019 – Kondelik is leading the pack at UConn this season.  Not only is he sharing the team scoring lead, but he’s working the top-line pivot spot. Kondelik packs a serious punch of power, skill and size. Increased minutes and situational play should propel him to another level this season. – Nicholas Kawka

July 2019 – Kondelik and Nashville alike should be thrilled with the past season.  At all of 18 years of age in his rookie NCAA season, Kondelik finished second in team scoring and was the youngest player on the team.  Already possessing a hulking frame at 6’5” tall and 230 pounds, Kondelik is primed to only improve. The 2018 4th-round-selection is quickly becoming a prospect of potential in Nashville. – Nicholas Kawka

February 2019 – Kondelik has had a great freshman campaign for the University of Connecticut with 25 points in 29 games. Kondelik’s four goals may seem low, but his growth as a playmaker this season has been great to watch. He finished his World Junior campaign with two points in five games, including a power-play goal that banked in off of his head. Kondelik is still a few years away from making it to the pros, but he’s a year ahead of schedule in terms of development. Matt Somma

December 2018 – Kondelik has been named to the Czech Republic’s U20 team for the World Junior Championships. The massive center is in the midst of an impressive rookie campaign with the University of Connecticut with 14 points in 17 games, 13 of which are assists. Kondelik began the season as UConn’s fourth line center but has quickly risen to be given top-six minutes, power play time, as well as time on the penalty kill. Matt Somma

October 2018 – Kondelik made his NCAA debut for the University of Connecticut on October 12th, recording two primary assists in the process. The massive center began his NCAA career on the fourth line while also getting time on the penalty kill. After a strong showing and a shorthanded assist, Kondelik should see his ice time increase. September 2018 – Kondelik was selected in the fourth round, 111^th overall, by the Nashville Predators this past June. The 6-6 center had an impressive year for Muskegon in the USHL, scoring 16 goals and finishing with 34 points in 44 games. Kondelik more than doubled his point totals from the 2016-2017 campaign and is set to play for the University of Connecticut in the fall. Kondelik’s offensive upside is limited and it’s likely that he peaks at a third line center. Kondelik will need at least three years of college before being ready for the pros. Matt Somma
